Divorce by county in Colorado

Colorado divorce law is the same in all 64 counties: no fault, 91 days, $260, equitable division. What changes is the courthouse, the self-help center, the local case-management order, and the housing market you are dividing. Pick your county.

Same everywhere

The law

C.R.S. Title 14, Article 10 applies statewide. The forms are the same JDF forms.

Different by county

The courthouse and the people

District court, self-help center hours, local orders on mediation and parenting classes.

Different by county

The housing market

A $649,500 median in the Denver metro is not a $300,000 median in the San Luis Valley. The math changes.

We cover

The Front Range and beyond

Denver metro, Colorado Springs, Boulder, the mountain counties, and the plains through the Keller Williams network.

Where do I file?

In the district court of the county where either spouse lives. Denver is its own city and county (2nd Judicial District, 1437 Bannock St.). Metro counties like Arapahoe, Douglas, Jefferson, Adams and Boulder have their own district courts; smaller counties use combined courts that handle district and county matters in one building.
