About Divorce Workshops Colorado
Divorce is one of the most disorienting transitions a person can go through. The legal process is unfamiliar. The financial stakes are enormous. Emotions run high while you're being asked to make decisions that will shape the next decade of your life — and most people face it without a clear roadmap.
Divorce Workshops Colorado exists to change that.
Our Mission
We bring together a panel of experienced Colorado professionals — attorneys, financial specialists, mental health experts, mediators, and real estate advisors — to give you honest, straightforward answers in one room, on one night, at no cost. No sales pitch. No pressure. Just information from people who work in this space every day and understand what you're facing.
Our goal is simple: help you make decisions from a place of knowledge rather than fear.
What Happens at a Workshop
Workshops are held monthly at Keller Williams DTC in Centennial, Colorado, and they're always free to attend. Each session features six professionals covering the topics that matter most during a divorce:
- The legal process and what to expect from filing through final orders
- Protecting your financial future — assets, debts, retirement, and long-term planning
- Mediation and collaborative approaches versus traditional litigation
- The emotional and mental health side of divorce — for you and for your kids
- Co-parenting logistics and setting up a sustainable family structure
- What to do with the house: sell, stay, refinance, or buy out
After the panel presentations, there's a dedicated Q&A block where you can ask anything — anonymously if you prefer. Many attendees tell us this is the most valuable part of the night.
Why We Started This
Divorce Workshops Colorado was founded by Brian Lee Burke, team leader of The Kenna Real Estate Group at Keller Williams DTC. In 25+ years of helping Colorado families with real estate, Brian saw a pattern that troubled him: people in the middle of a divorce were making enormous financial decisions — often about their single largest asset, the family home — without the information they needed.
Some were rushed into selling. Others held on to homes they couldn't afford. Many didn't know there were alternatives. And almost none of them had access to a group of professionals willing to answer their questions in plain language, without the meter running.
So Brian built the room he wished his clients had walked into years earlier — and opened the doors to anyone who needs it.
Who Should Attend
Our workshops are for anyone who is considering divorce, already in the process, or recently divorced and figuring out what comes next. You don't need to have filed anything. You don't need to know what you want. You don't even need to be sure divorce is the right path — many attendees are still weighing it.
If any of the following sounds familiar, you belong in the room:
- You're trying to understand your options before you commit to a direction
- You've been served and don't know what to do next
- You're worried about the financial impact and need clarity on what's at stake
- You have questions about the house and whether to keep it, sell it, or refinance
- You want to protect your children through the process
- You've already gone through divorce and need help with the rebuild
A Different Kind of Resource
We're not a law firm. We're not a therapy practice. We're not pitching a service. We're a group of Colorado professionals who believe that people going through one of the hardest moments of their lives deserve real information from real experts — and that no one should have to pay just to ask a question.
If that resonates with you, we'd love to see you at the next workshop.
